Troy Carlson Medical Expenses

On October 31st, 2022, my Brother In Law Troy, fell asleep at the wheel on his way home from work. He launched into a tree and had to be rescued from the vehicle. He was alert at the time of the accident and was able to communicate that he couldn’t feel his legs. In the hours following, Troy lost consciousness and was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery on his broken neck, flatlining at one point but was luckily resuscitated! He spent at least 2 weeks unconscious, on a ventilator barely hanging on. In these months since, his recovery has been full of hope and setbacks. His many injuries have resulted in him with very little chance of ever walking again. We’ll never give up hope! His wife Andrea has been by his side EVERY SINGLE DAY, and is learning to care for his daily needs which currently include a feeding tube, wound care, Trach care, daily basic care needs such as bathing, bodily functions & properly adjusting him so he doesn’t get bed sores etc. As you can imagine, the bills are piling up and will continue as they’ll need to either modify their home or move to a wheelchair accessible home elsewhere, not to mention the need for a vehicle to transport him. Since December, Troy & Andrea have been in Colorado at Craig’s Hospital for extensive rehabilitation and training on daily living as life goes on. Each week seems to bring 1 step ahead, 2 steps back and their journey is just getting started. Their lives have been FOREVER changed. Please consider helping them even a little as expenses are mounting and income has been reduced drastically.
