Troy Reeder and Family
Donation protected
Troy started feeling sick on September 23rd. He thought he had a typical virus that would quickly pass and he would be back to normal. On Tuesday, September 26th he visited the ER with hopes of receiving fluids to help with dehydration. Wednesday, September 27th Troy was moved into the ICU at Dublin Methodist. He was septic, his heart was in Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), he lost vision in his left eye, and the infection was in his brain. Monday, October 2nd Troy was moved to Riverside Methodist Hospital. Earlier in the day they received the news that he would need open heart surgery for a valve replacement. The infection caused damage to his heart.
On Saturday, October 7th Troy’s cultures were finally considered clear, so he was officially no longer septic. His heart went back into normal rhythm without needing shock treatment. The hope was that Troy would be able to go home soon with IV antibiotics. They were planning to schedule the heart surgery for some time in the future after he had been clear of infection for several weeks.
Unfortunately, the infection around his heart is growing and Troy is not able to go home. He will need open heart surgery before he can be released from the hospital. After his heart surgery he will need surgery to help restore his vision.
On this journey Troy has been treated by several doctors - Cardiology, Neurology, Infectious Disease, and Ophthalmology. He has endured many procedures and surgeries with more to come. His wife has been by his side the entire time. There is a long road a head, but the Reeder family continues to be positive and grateful.
Troy and Elizabeth have four children, Tanner (16), Tatum (13), Tory (10), and Ty (3). They are grateful for the love, support, and prayers from their friends and Family.
Many have reached out asking how they can help. This fund is a great way to offer support toward medical expenses. Thank you in advance for any amount you would be able to contribute.
The funds will go directly to the Reeder family.
