Save Our Shop

Hello everyone, my name is Will and I am fundraising for my shop Valentino’s Costume Group. We are a Period/ Historical costume rental that has been around in different incarnations for decades and in February of this year we moved to a new perfect location where we finally were able to house all of our stock in one place once again.

Our plan in moving was to expand the shop so that not only were we working with theatres, schools, and the public; turning the loading dock into a rehearsal/performance space, but also to be able to better serve the film and television industry by becoming a Union signatory house with rentable cages and production offices.

Just as we completed the move, the Writers Strike started and then was followed by the SAG AFTRA Strike. We support both 100% and hope that they can get what they need from contract negotiations, but unfortunately, it has greatly impacted us like so many others in our industry.

Because of the timing of the strikes and the cost of moving, we have fallen behind on our rent and are becoming in danger of losing our shop if it can't be paid in a timely manner.
