TRU Skillz Academy Allstars Travel

“Earned…not given!” That’s the motto of the TruSkillz Academy Allstars. The Academy features two teams of elite, female flag football athletes from western Palm Beach County. Under the leadership of TruSkillz Founder and Director, Chris Truszkowski, accompanied by an experienced coaching staff, the teams have dominated in local and statewide tournaments. In less than the 18 months that the girls have been together, they have showcased their talents and teamwork, competing in 5 on 5 and 7 on 7 tournaments throughout Florida, including: Wellington, Land O’ Lakes, Orlando, Tampa, Lakeland, and Plant City as well as at the University of Florida. The girls often play up, in older age divisions and have competed against male-only teams. Practices are grueling in 90-degree heat and require the girls to give up their free time on weekends and evenings but these AllStars are committed to success. In January, both teams competed in the AFFL Youth World Championships at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, where the 12u team was crowned National Champions, defeating Mexico in the final game. In February, the girls competed in the Hard Count Athletics National Qualifier tournament in Land O’ Lakes, FL and the 12u team again took top honors, clinching another championship ring. These victories earned the 12u team an invitation-only shot at the USA Football’s The One Championship in North Carolina at the US Development Center this summer where they will have the opportunity to be scouted by the USA Junior Olympics. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience the girls will never forget, however traveling for this opportunity will be costly. Between food, flights, hotels and gas - it takes a community to make these dreams come true. Our goal is to get every girl who has earned this opportunity up to this tournament this summer.
