Ypsilanti Gun Buyback Program

Tax deductible
August 24,2019 The Cream Incorporated along with the Ypsilanti Police Department will host a Firearm & Rifle Buyback. With this program, we aim to  leave Ypsilanti a safer city by removing stolen, bartered, and/or illegally owned Firearms and Rifles. It is these very types of illegally owned weapons that are more likely to end up in the hands of children and/or untrained/unlicensed individuals, leading to tragic and more times than often deadly situations.

Unlike traditional gun buybacks, we aim to acquire high power handguns as well as assault rifles. We will accomplish this by offering cash with No Questions Asked! There will be a $250.00 base rate for all high powered handguns and $500.00 for all High Powered Rifles.

The Ypsilanti Gun Buyback is part of a Cream Incorporated Southeastern  Michigan Violence and Crime reduction strategy that transitions into Community Based Empowerment Sessions that creates solutions for Socioeconomic Ills. The Cream will secure a location within the city of Ypsilanti where individuals can surrender their firearms, no questions asked. All firearms are thereafter handled properly by The Ypsilanti Police Department. Details and procedures for The Pistol Buyback has been released by the Ypsilanti Police Department and conveyed to The Cream Incorporated: These Details along with Specifications of time and location will be released August 15th, 2019. Dissemination of this information will include community awareness through flyers and  Men and Women on the ground.

In the areas that The Cream Incorporated provide services, (Detroit, Inkster, and Ypsilanti Michigan) the senseless violence that we witness daily is very real, and we see first hand what weapons in the wrong hands will do. Please understand, The term Buyback is commonly used because 65% of the weapons that are confiscated off the street are stolen. This reactive solution to the Gun violence within our inner city neighborhoods is a prerequisite component to a pro active community development program that we have, and will continue to implement within the areas that we provide programs and services in, and DOES NOT COME OFF THE HEELS OF THE MASS SHOOTINGS HERE IN AMERICA. This particular event was actually planned back in April of this year coming off the heels of the relentless and tenacious recklessness of our "youth with guns" within the areas that we have a presence.

Here's a few things to point out:

1. This is in no way shape or form some anti 2nd amendment movement.

2. If you legally own a firearm we are not asking you to come and turn it in, to stop the violence. A study done in 2016 showed that over 80% of the crimes committed with guns within the Urban Community were committed by guns that were stolen or illegally owned.

3. This is solely aimed at the individuals within the inner cities that funnel these weapons through the neighborhood contingent upon one thing and one thing only....CASH!......age or mental capacity is of no concern to these said individuals.

When senseless murders and gun violence occur within the inner cities... that faint voice is very loud within the minds of the community..."how did they get that type of gun..anyway?"

We need your Support!

The Cream Incorporated will deposit receipts to The City of Ypsilanti’s account which in return they will create an escrow account for the Gun Buyback. All funds remaining from the campaign after the Buy Back will remain in an escrow account within The City of Ypsilanti. This account will be utilized for all families and individuals that reside within the City of Ypsilanti to create, sustain, and operate proactive solutions to curb the violence, pain, and suffering caused by the misuse and illegal activity of Guns. A Committee of Ypsilanti Residents will be formed to receive proposals from families and individuals within The City of Ypsilanti to access these funds. Guidelines for this Program will be released to the Community in September of 2019. The Committee for this program will be elected October 2019, as we would like to start this program around the end of October 2019.
