Bring Trudie home!
Donation protected
One of the most difficult challenges in life is to ask for help. Especially when asking for monetary donations amidst a global pandemic during the holiday season. I have created this campaign for my sister in-law, Trudie Maney. She has been struggling with Parkinson’s Disease for almost 17 years. Since her initial diagnosis she has received care from countless medical teams from New Mexico to Florida. She has a deep brain stimulator implant and has been prescribed an overabundance of every medication available. Most of which have been paid out of pocket. This disease has taken full control and she has started experiencing episodes of dementia. Her condition has rapidly progressed to the point where she must have 24hr full time care. My brother and 13-year-old nephew had to make the most difficult decision of their lives and placed her in a skilled nursing facility. Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover the care she needs. She has been denied social security assistance twice, and my brother has hired a lawyer to fight the system to change the insurance coverage. Doing so has drained their bank accounts and they’re drowning in debt. They can’t afford to continue paying out of pocket like this. I understand the amount I am requesting is huge, but the need is urgent. If you can’t donate, please at least share so we can get Trudie back home with the proper in-home care.
