Fund BC Film Production of "True!"

My name is Ben Parker, and this year I will be going into production on a film set in West Kelowna, British Columbia. It's a post-coming-of-age film centring around themes of maturity and the myth of masculinity. The film is called True! and draws from various real-life people and conversations directly written into the script. As the writing process nears the end, I am looking for financing for our micro-budget feature. This would include paying for food, locations, equipment, transport costs, and various other expenses. The entire crew will be working without pay, trying our hardest to make a movie above all else.

The film is a neo-western set in present-day Canada. Taking the approach of many hangout movies, True! is an interwoven anthology following the stories of three young men questioning their own every move. Dry in both environment and humour, this dark comedy/drama is ripe with authentic stories and conflicts.

This is a story that is deeply personal and close to my heart, and something that I will not rest until we tell it. It's a movie inspired by and starring some of my closest friends and inspirations, and I believe it has the potential to impact many others.
