Truman’s Chemotherapy Journey
Donation protected
Our sweet Truman was diagnosed in July with a nasal carcinoma - he has a cancerous tumour growing rapidly on the inside of his left nostril. The symptoms piled on quickly, and have interfered with his breathing, sleeping, and eating.
For those who know Truman, you probably can’t imagine anything slowing him down - especially when it comes to eating. He may be 12 years old, but he’s got a drive in him that will stand the test of time - and he is putting up one strong fight.
Sadly, the tumour is not operable, and our only option is chemo to stop the growth. We’re working on the perfect medical dosage to keep our little man comfortable so he can live the rest of his days enjoying his favourite things: sous-cheffing every meal, long car rides, walkies with his brother, daytime couch snuggles, weekend sleep-in’s, and city adventures. We hope that he will continue to boss us around, too.
He’s one of the most free-spirited, kind, hilarious and true-to-himself beings that I’ll ever meet and I am so lucky to have called myself his Mami for 12 years. So the least I can do is give him all I’ve got.
I wish cost wasn’t a factor, but the therapy will be setting us back around $800/month for medication and bloodwork, on top of the $6000 of tests to get to where we are today. This why I’m putting out our message - any additional month of his happiness would be such a gift.
If you can help, or you’d like to share Truman’s story, please do.
He sends you all his love. Xx
