Trust Fund for John Holcomb's Children

Friends & Family,

My dear friend and the greatest volunteer to my Foundation has passed away this morning. His mother said he went peacefully. I will forever be grateful we got to spend some time together and say our goodbyes. We joked, we laughed, and we cried but John knows I loved him and appreciated his dedication to helping so many other families and their children who had survived and endured such atrocious acts.

Through all the work he has done for my Foundation, he was able to maintain a sense of humor. He stepped away when he needed to - we all have had to because it isn't easy work and we all knew we needed to make sure we were okay so that we could be the best for the families we serve.

He was always there for our families and he helped bring justice, but also comfort. He dedicated so much time shutting down harmful sites, speaking to law enforcement, traveling as a witness, and simply being an ear to a crying parent. He was my boots on the ground.

John will forever remain a hero in our hearts and his legacy will continue with the team of volunteers he built for my Foundation. As big as his shoes will be to fill, they are committed to continuing his work.

John served on the USS Savannah and was part of Operation Desert Shield in 1990 which turned into Desert Storm. He served in many different deployments and maintained friendships and a brotherhood with those he served, all of whom have visited him in his final months. I am grateful for his service not only to our country but to the victims and families he served.

When I was with John, he specifically asked me to set up a trust fund for his children. He needed to know they will be cared for in his absence and have opportunities available to them as they navigate their lives without their father. He asked I work with his mother on this as we all know there is nothing quite like the comfort of grandma's loving embrace. Their connection to their dad.

In John Holcomb's memory, and because of his service as a Veteran in the United States Navy, I ask that you please consider donating. Any amount helps and will be put away for the benefit of his children.
