Kawika Pacarro  was only 21, he had a 2 year old daughter a family and many friends who loved him dearly. He worked hard for years on the Alaska Pipeline Slope doing construction and owned his own business in Anchorage, Alaska. He had a big heart and always cared for everyone around him, he was loved by his friends and family who are grieving his loss and left in complete shock and grief over many unproven allegations that the Anchorage, Alaska police department made against him in a press release only 48 hours after Kawika was shot and killed. It’s been 2 weeks and the police department refuses to offer any factual documented evidence to his family in the shooting death of Kawika (no video footage, no forensics, the two bullets that went through his chest, gun powder residue or even what type of gun was used to prove that Kawika even shot a gun as he was accused of doing by APD). They are road blocking the family in getting forensic evidence in his death or the crime they accused him of having committed and being unresponsive to family members.

We need to raise funds to pay for an independent autopsy and possibly other resources to get answers as to what happened to Kawika and how he spent his last moments. We need the truth in order to have peace and for Kawikas memory to be left with the truth, not allegations after he is gone and cannot speak for himself..

The Anchorage police were the only witnesses when Kawika was shot and killed as far as we have been informed. According to the state examiner Dr. Galager, Kawika had 2 gunshot wounds to the chest. Any more than 1 shot is extremely rare and difficult for suicide victims. The examiner who performed his autopsy stated that the 2 bullets entered from the left side of his chest (the heart side) and that they came in at a downward trajectory (angle), that they were above the heart missing it and went through his lung and out of his back. Anyone can re-enact this to see how difficult it would be to point a gun at the top of the heart at a downward angle hitting the lungs but missing the heart. You would have had to extend his elbow higher than your gun/chest in order to make that happen.

Kawikas behavior leading up to his death did not match up to someone on the run, who had just committed a horrific crime or who wanted to take his own life. The evidence of his shooting (trajectory angle, location of the bullets and being two shots) do not quite fit the story that APD is telling the family and the public. According to APD, he got out of his vehicle, exchanges words with police and then shot himself twice ABOVE the heart at a DOWNWARD angle in a position that is quite difficult to achieve.

The state examiner stated to Kawikas family, when asked for forensic evidence that Kawika actually shot a gun, that their office no longer checks for gun powder residue and did not attempt to make a determination if Kawika in fact shot a gun, and whether he shot it with his right or left hand. The examiner said "it is irrelevant what hand he used to shoot or if there's gun powder residue on his hands."

As far as we are able to find, APD does not wear body cams , and they're not releasing ANY dash cam evidence of what happened to Kawika.
Events leading up to Kawikas death clearly do not line up with the accusations against him. The police still have not provide ANY hard evidence in the crime he was accused of, no forensics, nothing other than hearsay. Kawika talked to his family members 1 hour prior and everything seemed normal, he wasn't hiding from people, or on the run, he was out doing things at local stores. Family said he seemed fine everything was completely normal.
