Trying to get a home for my son and myself

hi . My name is Paul I am looking for help to pay off a debt to my local authority, I have become a single parent to my 14 year old son . Who is having to sleep on the settee due to the living situation, I am in a single room bed sit .

the authorities won’t let me go on the housing list due to the arears on my council tax , they won’t allow me on it until I have cleared the debt , I am unable to afford to pay it off as I am unable to work due to ill health conditions ,but I am doing my best to help my 14 year old son to have a life . He isn’t sleeping well and won’t take the bed as he doesn’t want me to get any worse than I am. And it’s not helping with his school studies So I need to clear the debt before they will accept me on to the housing list .
