Trying to raise money for funeral expense

***For Immediate Release*** On January 19, 2024 at approximately 3:10 p.m. the Giles County Sheriff's Office 9-1-1 Center received a call regarding a subject with a gunshot wound inside a residence. Upon arrival, deputies found a 14 year-old male who had suffered a single gunshot wound. The male was pronounced deceased by arriving EMS personnel. Only two other juveniles were home at the time of the shooting. This is considered an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. The investigation remains active. No other information on this incident will be released, including the names of the ***For Immediate Release*** As previously released, on January 19, 2024 deputies from the Giles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an accidental shooting in the Clendenin area of Giles County. Upon their arrival, first responders found one 14 year-old male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Two other juvenile males were present at the time of the shooting and were questioned by investigators. Since that date, the investigation has been ongoing. On February 23, 2024 investigators obtained a petition for felony reckless handling of a firearm on one juvenile male. That petition has been served, though the case remains active.
