TSA Park Playground Upgrade

The Treasure State Acres Park Plaground is getting a long overdue Upgrade, and we need your help.

Treasure State Acres Park started as nothing more than a big dirt lot in the middle of the neighborhood back in the 1980s. Through the dedication and hard work of many local residents and the TSA Park Board, that lot was transformed into the amenity that it is today. The park is used by TSA residents as well as sports teams and organizations from across Lewis & Clark County and the State of Montana, and the playground is right at the center of all the action.

After many years of use, the time has come to upgrade the playground in the TSA Park. The majority of the equipment in the playground, including swingsets and monkey bars, were acquired (used) over 25 years ago by our Park. This equipment is old, and its safety standards are outdated.

The Park Board, along with TSA neighbors, with Lewis & Clark County, the Treasure State Acres HOA, and the City of Helena, has arrived at a final design for the new park playground. This design keeps the existing slide in place and replaces the swings and monkey bars with a new play structure, balance beam toys, activity panels for the youngest kiddos, and new swingsets that include swings designed for all ages as well as individuals with extra support needs. There will be new benches and a picnic table, and the existing gravel ground cover will be replaced with safer and easily maintainable engineered wood fiber.

At this time, the TSA Park Board and TSA HOA have already secured over $40,000 of the approximately $93,000 required to pay for the design and installation of the new playground equipment and amenities. The Park Board is in the process of applying for a grant through the City of Helena and Lewis & Clark County Parks Departments as well as working with the many community groups who regularly use the park to continue raising funds.
