Tserha Tsion, St Mary of Zion Roof appeal
Our Church community is facing an URGENT problem, which we are trying to fix. As you might be aware building works have commenced for the conversion of 229, Lower Clapton Road, ES to a place of worship. Works is progressing; however, Asbestos has been found in the roof and we need to fix it before we can proceed.
This vital piece of work needs to be carried out as its health and safety, the cost is in the region of £190,000.00 (one hundred and ninety thousand pounds).
Together we can solve the problem. Your support is crucial to our efforts to build a church for St Mary of Tserha Tsion to rest after 45 years without a home.
Due to the scale of work needed we are trying to reach out to 1000 people to donate each £250.00 or more to help us achieve our mission to build a home for St Mary of Tserha Tsion. We do understand that not everyone can afford such sums of money so we would love it, if you could donate as much as you can afford.

ቤተክርስቲያናችን እና ምእመኑ ለመፍታት እየሞከርነው ያለ አስቸኳይ ችግር ገጥሞታል። 229 Lower Clapton Road, London E5ን ወደ ማምለኪያ ቦታችን የመለወጡ የህንጻ ስራ ተጀምሯል። ስራዎች በሂደት ላይ ነበሩ፣ ቢሆንም ግን በጣሪያው ላይ አስቤስቶስ ተገኝቷል እናም ስራ ከመቀጠላችን በፊት መወገድ አለበት።
አስቤስቶሱን ለማስወገድ ለምናወጣው ወጪ የእርሶን እርዳታ እንፈልጋለን። ተመጣጣኙ ዋጋ £190,000.00 (አንድ መቶ ዘጠና ሺህ ፓውንድ) ነው። ስራውን ለመጀመር ያህል ሁሉንም አባላት ፣ ቤተሰቦች እንዲሁም ጓደኞች በቻሉት ፍጥነት £250 ለ ቤተክርስትያኗ እንዲለግሱ በትህትና እየጠየቅን ነው። አስቤስቶሱን አስወግዶ ለማተናቀቅ የሚያስችለንን ገንዘብ የማሰባሰቡን ሰራ አጠናክረን እንቀጥላለን።
የ እናታችንን የ ቅድስት ድንግል ማርያምን ቤተ ህንጻ ሰርተን ለመጨረስ ቆርጠን ተነስተናል። እዚህ ደረጃ ላይ ለመድረስ ረጅም 45 አመታትን ፈጅቷል እናም እንደ እግዚአብሄር ፈቃድ የ ቤተክርስትያኑን ምርቃት በ ታቀደው ጊዜ መሰረትለ 27/ 28th JUNE 2020 ለማድረግእየሰራንነው።
ለምታደርጉልን አስተዋጻኦ በሙሉ በ ቤተክርስትያኗ ስም ከልባችን እናመሰኛለን። ሁሉም መዋጮ አስቤስቶሱን ለማስወገድ እና ጣራውን መልሶ ለመገንባት የሚውል የሆናል። የ UK ነዋሪ ከሆኑ እና ግብር የሚከፍሉ ከሆነ አስተዋጻኦዎን በ gift aid መልኩማድረግይችላሉ።
Building inspired history
In 1965 her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth made a Royal and Official visit to Ethiopia including a trip to the historical places Axum. It was there that her cousin the Duke of Gloucester visited his majesty on his jubilee and laid a ceremonial stone for construction of the new church. This church was built on the instructions of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1st, who also informed her Majesty of the Church name, St Mary of Zion (Tsion).
In 1974 the first church established here in London UK, was to take the name St Mary of Zion Ethiopian Orthodox Church, keeping with the theme ‘the first church’ in Ethiopia.
Our aims are clearly set out to provide a caring and compassionate environment to develop the social, academic potential and spiritual potential for all, raising standard of behaviour by developing respect and responsibility for all.
