Help a dream come true

Dear all

My name is Tsering Dolma and my dream is to work in the health sector in Nepal. I grew up in a remote northern Himalayan village that lacks health care, schools, communication and transportation systems. From a very young age, I have witnessed so many deaths, including my mother's and siblings', so my biggest wish is to help prevent such unnecessary and devastating losses.

I also know that many of these deaths will continue to happen simply because of the lack of available medical care. This is why, after I finish high school, I plan on going to university to pursue a degree in the health field. I’m particularly interested in studying psychology and global health.

I hope to be able to make a difference in peoples' lives as others have made in mine. For example, I was fortunate to be selected to attend the Shree Mangal Dvip Boarding School in Kathmandu and then receive a full scholarship to the Inter-Community School in Zurich Switzerland (ICS). It is because of peoples’ kindness and compassion that I could complete my International Baccalaureate Diploma program at the Inter-Community School of Zurich. To achieve my goal, the Parents Association of ICSZ has played a huge role. I am so thankful to all of them for their continuous support.

Recently I received good news from Maastricht University that I got accepted to study psychology and neuroscience. I will start my studies in September. 

I feel blessed and grateful for the opportunity to further my education.

With your donation to my university fund, I will be able to take another step towards fulfilling my dream: working to combat health problems in rural villages in Nepal.
