TSOR Mosque

Thank you for considering a donation to our project.  This is a 40 year in the making dream for folks that came to the United States with nothing more than the clothes on their back.  The Turkish Society of Rochester (TSOR) and Diyanet İşleri (TARF) is constructing a Mosque (House of Worship) that will be used by not just the Turkish American community but the entire Muslim community at large.  This beautiful 10,000 sq ft facility will be home for regular prayers and will be open to everyone to view and to enjoy.  It is a dual minaret, multi dome (5 to be specific) structure.  There will also be a funeral prep room to prepare the body for burial, which must be washed (“Ghusl”) and shrouded (“Kafan”).  At which point the deceased can come straight to the Mosque and not have to be sent to any Funeral Home. 

Year to date (in the last 6 years) we’ve spent $1,050,000 for the land, site work, exterior walls, windows, minarets, domes and roof but are in need of $850,000 more to complete this amazing project.  The minarets and the front facade will be done by June.  At which point we aim to move inside for the plumbing, electric, and hvac work.
