SUPPORT FOR PALISADES STAPLE GRACIAS SEÑOR

Rodolfo (Rudy) Barrientos is an integral part of the beating heart of Pacific Palisades (home to one of the Zab’s co-founders, Miles, and a place where we’ve spent so much time together). There are so many people like Rudy who the Palisades revolve around who come to and from town each day to make a living (Rudy from Compton), and form the glue that binds the community. Albi, the lead server from Mort’s Deli and Café Vida, who is family to many local residents. Ronny who owns the liquor store and dry cleaner who makes the best burrito. Cholada Thai. Palisades Garden Cafe. Many more. There is no Pacific Palisades without Rudy. He feeds our neighbors some of the best tacos in Los Angeles (our opinion and that of @lataco) daily in front of the Library that burned down Tuesday night. He does it with a massive smile on his face, and some of the warmest hospitality imaginable. He brings people together. He’s been gracious in the face of pressure from much larger entities who have forced him to move his food truck. And even more gracious in the face of tragedy. As fire has ravaged Pacific Palisades and more, we don’t know where Rudy will take his truck now. It may take his new community time to get to know what we know, but they will be lucky to have him. While residents have been forced to flee this week, Rudy leaned in. Rudy set up his truck at the LAPD disaster command center on PCH and has offered free food to first responders on his own dime. As we struggle to deal with all the loss, Rudy stepped up. And even though he’s asked for nothing, we want to support him and all he represents. Please consider helping us to reimburse Rudy for his expenses and then some while he figures out where to go while Pacific Palisades rebuilds. Gracias, Rudy. And thank you so much to the fire departments from all over the state, first responders and so many more.
