George's Windmills Donation Page
We formed our charity in memory of our son George Allan Hatfield who sadly lost his life to liver disease and post-transplant cancer in December 2019.
We are a registered charity, number 1194981.
This page has been created so that we may collect donations to be made to hospitals and caregivers who helped to provide George and our family with fantastic care and unwavering support during the most traumatic time of our lives.
Using money raised we intend to:
- Purchase items, such as toys, to donate to local paediatric wards to make young, poorly patients experience's in hospital that little bit easier;
- Assist local paediatric wards work towards a goal amount so that they may improve ward facilities for children and their families or purchase vital medical equipment;
- Provide "acts of Joy" to poorly children and their families in our local area (primarily London & Essex) who are fighting terminal illnesses;
- Purchase items from Charities wish-lists;
- Provide funding towards improving and maintaining family accommodation spaces;
- Providing poorly children in local hospitals with gift bags so that they don't miss out on those important celebrations (Christmas, Easter etc.)
The main institutions we intend to support are places that provided amazing care to George throughout his short life and which are extremely close to our hearts. These include, but are not limited to:
- Basildon & Thurrock Hospitals
- King's College Hospital, London
- Ronald McDonald House Charities, primarily Camberwell, London
We also run a wish scheme ("Wish Upon a Windmill") to help grant wishes and treats to children suffering from liver disease, and their families.
Thank you so very much in advance for your extremely kind donation.
