Help Me Get Back on the Road – Engine Replacement Fund

I never thought I’d be in a position to make a GoFundMe, but here I am—humbly asking for help because I truly don’t know what else to do.

I’m raising $8,000 to replace the engine in my 2020 Hyundai Tucson. This car has been my lifeline—literally. Since I lost my job in May 2024, I’ve been doing DoorDash to make ends meet. After losing my apartment in Austin in August 2024, I had to move back to Copperas Cove. Unfortunately, I can’t make enough out here, so I’ve been driving 60+ miles each way to Austin almost every day just to make enough to cover basic living expenses.

At first, my car was doing just fine with the extra miles. But around January/February 2025, I started noticing I was going through oil way too fast. Now I’m needing oil changes or top-offs every 2-3 weeks, just to keep the car going. And just last night (April 7, 2025), the worst happened—my engine blew. I’m completely stuck.

I’ve exhausted the little savings I had and maxed out every option I can think of. I’ve applied to over 200 jobs since June and have only landed 5 interviews, with no offers yet (though I’ve made it pretty far in a couple). But at the very least, I need a working car just to keep dashing and to even get to interviews.

I hate asking for help and sharing my business like this. I’ve always prided myself on being able to figure things out on my own. But this time, I really can’t do it alone. This is my last resort.
