Tubiteho campaign
Donation protected
Hi my name is Léonce ,
In 2005, in Rwanda, a group of parents came together and created an association called Tubiteho, which means "let's take care of them". It was one of the first institutions that advocated for "inclusive" education for children with intellectual disabilities. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the parents and various partners who worked for the cause of children with intellectual disabilities, in 2007 , the Rwandan government enacted one of the first laws in favor of people living with intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities.
The opening of the center was a glimmer of hope for families, who gained access to specialized education that took into account the strengths and weaknesses of each child. This contributed to creating a more inclusive society because, as parents, it is both a privilege and a responsibility to care for a child with a disability.
It is a privilege to be able to experience life differently and a responsibility to make a difference in the life of a child who is in great need. By accepting this responsibility, we embark on a path that will undoubtedly help us grow as individuals and, if possible, positively impact our surroundings and the society we live in.
I speak from experience because my younger brother was able to benefit from the establishment of the center. He was able to go to school in the morning, learn to read and write, learn a trade, and gain confidence in himself.
It is on this occasion that I ask all my friends and acquaintances to participate in this fundraising campaign to allow the center to continue to exist and to give hope to families and children in need.
Every donation is important, whether big or small, as it creates an impact.
Thank you all,
Léonce.
