Support for The Price Family
Donation protected
Each and every one of us have been affected by Covid-19 in one way or another and The Price family is no different. My best friend Missi of 20+ years and her family have endured and continue to endure the devastating effects. Emotionally, mentally, and financially.
In mid April, both Tony and Missi became ill with Covid. As Missi recovered fairly quickly, Tony’s condition quickly deteriorated. He was admitted to the hospital on April 25 and shortly after placed on a ventilator. After a few days on the ventilator the doctors and nurses were unable to keep his blood oxygen saturation at a safe level. The decision was made to place him on ECMO. ECMO is a life- saving/support treatment that circulates blood outside of the body to rid it of CO2 and re-oxygenate the blood to circulate back to the body. ECMO has temporarily taken over the job of Tony’s lungs to provide oxygen to the body. By placing Tony on ECMO, the medical staff were hopeful this would give his lungs time to rest, heal, and repair themselves from the damage done by the effects of the Covid infection so he could return to his pre-Covid life as a father and husband. With great sadness, this treatment has not been successful and his wife, Missi, will have to end this treatment and face the unthinkable for any spouse.
Tony and Missi celebrated 21 years of marriage in April of this year and have two teenage children, Sophie and Tyler. During the time Tony has been hospitalized, Sophie graduated high school and attended her only prom. Mother’s Day came and went and next was Memorial Day. One of Tony’s favorite holidays is Memorial Day. Although Tony was never in the military, veterans held a special place in his heart and he became involved with several veterans associations, local rotary clubs, and town councils. Part of the reason for getting involved with these organizations was Tony’s career. For over 20 years, Tony has always worked in the funeral business. By being involved with the community, he connected with many people and families. During his career, he helped countless families deal with the overwhelming process of planning memorial services and funerals for their loved ones all while they were grieving. He helps with aftercare by guiding them through last will and testaments, life insurance, and all items that grieving families are faced with. And now in a few short days, Tony’s family will be in the same place as the countless families Tony has helped over the years. Although there is comfort in knowing he will leave his damaged and diseased body behind for his perfect heavenly body, free of pain, free of disease and live eternally in peace, the family is devastated.
I can’t find the words for this Gofundme campaign to illustrate the devastation and stress that Tony’s passing will cause. The only thing I know that can be done by all those who know this family or know one of them individually is to help financially. We would like to raise $50,000 to ensure they can remain in their family home, help pay medical expenses, memorial expenses, and provide some relief this situation has placed on the family. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go to exactly what it is meant for. Tony’s wife will be the beneficiary and all funds will go directly to her.
