Tucker's treatments and recovery costs

Donation protected
UPDATE 8/2/2023:
We want to thank everyone who has donated towards Tucker's recovery expenses. It has been such a beautiful blessing to receive financial help, as well as a sense of community. I have been so stressed out that it's almost debilitating at times. It's been comforting to see contributions come in from family, friends, people I miss dearly, acquaintances and strangers alike. You all are Angels in my book!
Tucker had a fantastic check-up today and got a new bandage change. He was so well-behaved for the doctor, they didn't need to sedate him today (which saves a lot of money). They were able to close the wound (for the 3rd time) and hopefully, this will close it up. The doctor said we might not need any more surgeries, just office visits for a couple more weeks and medications. He said the skin looks healthy and so does the infection. I took that as GREAT news and lowered our GOFundMe goal so that we don't accept more money than we need from our beloved community. If there are any complications in the future, we may raise it back up to accommodate costs.
Thank you to everyone that has helped us in any way. We are grateful for all the love we have received.
Tucker and Rebecca

Hi! My name is Tucker and I need help with my recovery costs. I was brutally attacked a couple weeks ago by a neighboring German Shepard and I endured really extensive injuries to my chest. My mom Rebecca had just got home and took me out to potty- she asked which way I wanted to go and we went right. A neighbor dog started barking and pulling at us- next thing I knew I was on my back with my chest being ripped open and my mom screaming in terror. It was really traumatic because my flesh was hanging down about a foot and I was bleeding really bad. The owner of the other dog said she would pay for everything (She did pay over $5k for the initial treatment, but is now refusing to cover further recovery costs).
My mom was all alone holding me while I bled- no way to carry me. A kind neighbor came to help and gave us a towel and then drove my mom's car to an ER across town. The first procedure stitched me up and I had a pump installed to drain my wound. After a week of recovery, an infection was discovered and my skin started dying and the stitches gave way.
I have a new treatment plan of getting bandages stitched over my open wound while we have faith that it closes up soon. Every 48 hours, we drive 30-60 minutes (each way) to the vet ER and we wait 1-5 hours to get seen, sometimes having to come back twice in one day. This is like a full time job for my mom to be my nurse. Since the owner of the other dog declines to pay any further vet bills, my mom was forced to max out one credit card and apply for another care credit card to pay for this weeks treatment. I am unable to get treated if we can't pay the day of service. Everytime I'm sedated, it's several hundred dollars and the bills are adding up fast.
I'm a very loved part of the family and I am the tinest of the Big boys- I am a big baby. I have 2 human brothers that I love dearly. I deserve to recover. I deserve to get to be an old man smothered in love. I deserve to lay outside again. The traumatic stress of the attack, my unpredicatable recovery and the financial stress is really hard to cope with. But we are coping and we are doing everything possible to recover from this attack.
If you can contribute financially in any way, it will be a huge blessing to our family. All donations will go to future vet costs for bandage changes, sedation, treatments or procedures to close the wound, cleanings and medications, as well as paying back the credit card expenses that have accrued.
If you are unable to help financially, your love currency is appreciated too; if you care, please share our story and help us recover from this trauma.
Thank you,
Tucker and Rebecca
