Tuition Costs for Shay, MFT Master's Student

Hi, we are students halfway through our degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and we are raising funds for a classmate of ours, Shay.

A year or two before starting the program, Shay and her husband found out that he has stage 4 colon cancer. In the last year, that diagnosis has been labeled as terminal. They have had to balance a graduate program with so many other challenges. They were able to raise money through fundraising to pay for IVF earlier this year with many people and companies in Utah donating to an auction they held. It was amazing to see people rally together to support them on their journey.

This week, Shay let our cohort know that they are struggling financially due to medical bills and previous student loans and that they are out of options to pay for school. We cannot imagine facing the financial struggles of a master's program on top of medical bills and other stressors. That's why we started this GoFundMe. Shay has been an integral part of our cohort and her not being able to finish the program would be a loss.

The funds we raise would pay for her tuition and books for the next year so that she can graduate in May 2024.

As students ourselves, we do not have this amount available to share with them, but we would be so grateful for your help in lightening the burden that Shay is facing currently.
