Tulsa Spotlight Theater Break-In
Donation protected
It is with great sadness that we share the news of a recent break-in and theft at Tulsa Spotlight Theater.
The thieves gained access to the building by breaking through a 95-year-old courtyard door, breaking a glass panel and causing damage to the structure of that door. Amongst the merchandise stolen were forty shirts including t-shirts being sold as a fundraiser for Spotlight Children’s Theatre.
We are asking for your help in replacing stolen items. We are also seeking funds for a historic restoration of the damaged door to comply with the standards of the National Register of Historic Places, which does include the Tulsa Spotlight Theater. Additionally, the situation highlights the need to upgrade our security system.
You can also support the Spotlight Theater by coming to see a show. We are a small, nonprofit community theater. We only continue this 70-year Tulsa tradition through ticket and merchandise sales. We hope to see you again soon as “the show must go on.”
Any monies donated above our fundraising goal will be deposited into the building fund for ongoing maintenance and continued historic restoration as we look forward to the 100th Birthday of our volunteer-led, historic, Bruce Goff-designed building in 2028.
