Tunbridge Wells Taekwon-Do to the World Cup

We are really excited to confirm that Tunbridge Wells Taekwon-Do is taking a small team of 7 competitors and coaches to the World Cup in Slovenia.

The 8th ITF World Cup is taking place from 2nd to 9th October in Koper, Slovenia. With over 2000 competitors from 60 countries, we will compete with the best of the best at the largest World Cup the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) has ever seen. It will be the club's biggest challenge so far.

As a minority sport, we receive absolutely zero funding, and competitors have to self-fund all domestic and overseas competitions. This can become very costly for the athletes, especially as three of the team are still in full-time education and require a chaperone (also self-funded). Our coaches are also giving their time for free in the lead-up to and the week of the event.

We are asking for donations from students, their friends, families, and anyone in the local area who would like to support a local club at a huge international event.

All funds go towards costs of flights, accommodations, safety equipment, t-shirts, tracksuits and registration fees.
