Tunnels of Hope with St Peter's Primary School W6
Donation protected
* Rosamund Elwes is founder of Tunnels of Hope arts exhibitions in TFL subways.
She runs Offthewallarts which is a not for profit foundation dedicated to community impact and involvement.
Offthewallarts, has set up this GoFundMe page to raise the £15,000 essential towards the transformation of the drab, neglected TFL pedestrian subway from St Peter's Square (W6) to the river, into an uplifting art exhibition space. This will be the second Tunnels of Hope art exhibition in the tunnel.
This art experience will bring to life TFL'S promise to the public of 'Every Journey Matters'. The total amount we urgently need to raise for Tunnels of Hope 2 ,through corporate and individual sponsorship support, is £15,000.
High profile professional artists will include Jo Holland, Helga Stentzel and Jason Wilsher-Mills. They have been commissioned to create site specific artworks to the Tunnels of Hope theme. Their work will sit alongside the creative art work of talented local school children aged 9/10 from St Peters C of E Primary school, W6. They will create art work using plastic bottles/plastics as their creative palette expressing what they would change for the better if they were in charge.
`
PLASTIC IS a material that often goes to landfill and contributes
80% of rubbish that ends up in our oceans destroying our worlds precious eco system.
The funds are needed to create the work, the photography, printing, production and installation. Considerable publicity and promotions materials will be needed to create noise to
encourage the community to come and contribute funds as well as enjoy traversing the subway and be uplifted by the artistic messages.
All donations - however large or small - are welcome to support this important Offthewallarts and TFL TOH art exhibition as the benefit it will have on the community is priceless! We need hope like never before!
The musical launch will be on 18th September 2024 at the St Peters Square end of the pedestrian subway. 4.30 gathering with music band Snow Band playing. 5pm kick off with a celebrity cutting the ribbon. The public will go through the art exhibition and gather again by the Old Ship pub green where there will be more uplifting music by the Snow Band.
