Tuntable / Nightcap Fire Nov 2019

Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated, and to everyone who has given and continues to give their time and energy helping the community here in this time of crisis. It is our community spirit that got us through the last week, and it is that same spirit we need in the days and weeks ahead. The Mt Nardi fire in Northern NSW has impacted our Tuntable CoOp community and has done significant damage to the World Heritage listed Nightcap National Park. The current risk has been downgraded and we are now in a watch and wait and respond mode of operations. We still have lots to do; helping the community recover, getting people back into their homes etc. We have lost a lot of significant infrastructure which we will need to replace and rebuild and still need to prepare for the long hot summer ahead.  Our community members, all those who have assisted directly and indirectly in minimising the impact of the fire, our need for better preparedness for the summer ahead, and the forest - as much a part of our hearts as our homes are - are all part of the return, recovery, and rebuilding effort. We realize that not all of our willing supporters have had an opportunity to contribute yet so please consider our go fund me effort. Please give what you can, we continue to need your ongoing support as we enter the next phase in this current crisis. All funds will be managed by the co-op and dedicated to the rebuilding and recovery effort.
