Help bring clean water to an entire village.
Join us in making a real difference. We are raising money to complete the construction of a fully functional borehole in a village called Lolupe, located in a region known as Turkana, North-western Kenya. A borehole is a deep narrow hole drilled into the ground which taps into hidden water sources, and when pumped, is capable of producing up to 30,000 Liters of water a day. With your support we can have a huge impact on the prosperity of the people in Lolupe village. Water is of course essential for the survival of a people; but it also allows a community to thrive. Making way for crucial activities like farming and agriculture, leading to a self-sustaining, self-empowered community. Let’s help transform the lives of countless families and create a better world for future generations.

The people of Lolupe, belong to the Turkana Tribe, they are a proud community steeped in vibrant culture and tradition. They form part of the Nilotic tribes and are regarded as the third largest pastoralist community in Kenya, after the Kalenjin and the Luo, being slightly more numerous than the Massai.
Currently inhabiting the Turkana district of Kenya’s Rift Vally province. The Turkana people, however, originate from North-Eastern Uganda, and oral tradition suggests that they arrived in Kenya chasing a runaway bull. History shows that unlike many other tribes, they were not affected by colonialism as little value was seen in the dry, arid land they inhabited. The Turkana are typically a nomadic people who don’t have permanent settlements, frequently moving as food and water sources become exhausted.
While very much a strong and fighting community, the Turkana people must contend with a harsh, dry and dessert-like environment, a reality where many people unfortunately suffer from a lack of food and water. This was the call that informed our mission outreach work in Turkana about 10 years ago. Our mission was to see lives in this community transformed through the power of the gospel message, endeavoring to do as much as we can to help in whatever way practical.
To this end we ensure that every outreach mission brings not only the gospel, but also the support necessary to meet basic human needs. For the long-term we are working towards food distribution and the sinking of several more boreholes to supply clean water to wider communities, saving women and small children from long punishing treks in search of water, that in many cases yield water that is not safe to drink.
The Turkana water project was launched this year with a generous contribution of fifteen thousand pounds from Hope Church Rotherham, United Kingdom. However, the project is in urgent need of an additional six thousand pounds after estimated costs ran over budget. These additional funds will enable the successful completion of the borehole project so that the community can start benefiting from this clean water.
The cash from this fundraiser will go towards the installation of a water pump to the already drilled borehole, construction of a water storage structure, installation of water reservoirs, installation of solar power units and other needed essentials. Let’s work toward a better future for the people of Lolupe and leave a lasting positive impact for generations to come.
