A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey’s eastern provinces around 1 am London time. A lot of cities have been affected and Turkey has officially asked for international aid. Given the economic conditions, timing (04:17 local time when everyone was sleeping at home) and freezing weather in the area, urgent help will be needed. Deaths are expected to be in the thousands & rescue efforts are just starting – with the next 48 hours being the most critical.

I am aiming to raise 15,000 GBP to donate to local & governmental organizations that are helping with the current rescue and aid efforts.

The focus will be to donate 1/3rd of the amount raised for the current rescue efforts (next 48 hours) and the remaining for supporting the people who are affected by this earthquake.
