Turkey Trot for The Bowery Mission

Hi friends and family! Ireland here. This year I won’t be spending thanksgiving with loved ones but as a way to connect with you all and my community, I will be running the nyc turkey trot and raising money for The Bowery Mission. The mission has been serving the homeless and hungry in Manhattan since 1872, focusing on care that is compassionate and transformational.

A big part of the culture I grew up in has revolved around hospitality, even more so during the holiday season (Nod to our Rudolph family fearless leaders Hoot, Anne, & Judy in the restaurant industry and Grandpa Dee & Grandma Betty Adgate at Thunder Mountain). For me, warmth, food, and shelter are so closely tied with what I know as family. We are privileged not only to have those things, but to be able to use them as the building blocks of our relationships and cultures. I will miss you all this year but please join me in spirit on my turkey trot run and let’s share what we are blessed to have!

As a personal update, I feel so much gratitude right now. Many of you know that I suffered some prolonged health issues this year causing me to leave work. I am incredibly proud to share that I’m doing SO much better thanks to the support of so many of you.
