TURKIYE Earthquake Relief Fund by Tufts Students
Tax deductible
Dear All,
My name is Helin Alagoz, and I am a graduate student at Tufts University. I am from Turkey, and my country needs you. Turkey has requested immediate international help.
Early Monday, February 6th, at 4:17 am local time, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake shook Turkey and Syria. Following the initial quake, nearly 10,000 buildings collapsed across Turkey. We lost over 12,000. Thousands more are injured, and the recovery effort is far from over. The toll is expected to rise significantly.
I've created a fundraiser on GoFundMe to show our support for the families and individuals in need today. Collect donations will directly go to one of the 501(c)(3) Non-Profits organizations, Turkish Philanthropy Funds, (TPF). All proceeds will be sent to rescue groups. TPF monitors the impact on affected communities and collaborates with partners to direct funds where they are most needed. Initially, the fund assists first responders in meeting the immediate needs of survivors for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. TPF will support longer-term recovery efforts led by local, vetted partner organizations in the impacted area as needs arise. TPF will publish reports on how funds were spent and will email these reports to donors.
We need your help. You can make a difference by donating today to the Turkish Philanthropy Fund. Please consider contributing to TURKIYE Earthquake Relief Fund by Tufts Students (All donations are tax-deductible).
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law for donors who are US taxpayers. Turkish Philanthropy Funds’ tax-exempt ID number is 20-8392006. Turkish Philanthropy Funds issue you a tax receipt immediately after making a donation.
