Two years ago I was homeless, addicted to substances and at a roadblock in my life. Finding a passion for running has helped me begin my transformation towards a healthy lifestyle and helping others in similar situations. Through this journey I decided to start racing and in April of 2015 I ran my first full marathon, 42.2km. Without any formal training or experience, I won first place in the female division and realized my strength, devotion and will to change begins with my love for running. Being the first female to cross the finish line, I qualified for the Boston Marathon. With the help of the community I was able to run Boston and with my placing qualfied for next years race - a dream come true! My journey doesn't end here - I am seeking sponsorship and funding to help with purchasing new gear and training equipment, proper food and nutrition and travel as it is my desire to run multiple marathons and make a name for myself. Although I work, often times it is hard for me to come up with proper funding on my own and allowing me to train as much as needed. I am grateful for the support thus far and will continue to ignite my passion for running - Thank you
