URGENT EMERGENCY to SAVE PEACHES LIFE !

Donation protected
Peach’s family wants to again thank everyone for your generosity, support, caring, understanding and encouragement throughout this heartbreaking crisis. Alisa and Brian will be eternally grateful to all of you for your help and compassion. The GoFundMe has been adjusted to reflect the final bill received and unfortunately they will never know the reason their beloved Peach was taken from their lives. Oradell could not save her life and there was no answer as to why or the cause of her passing. I myself want to thank everyone who took an interest in Peach’s cause and genuinely cared about her life threatening situation and the heartache it brought to my son’s family. The outpouring of concern was great and I thank everyone who showed such compassion and kindness.

Peaches has sadly passed away this morning. The doctors at Oradell could not figure out what was causing her unstoppable rapid panting. She could not sleep or rest while there. She hadn’t eaten anything since last Saturday which was very little yet they did not put a feeding tube directly into her stomach as the question was put to them many times how long can she last without eating. Steroids were given for only one day, an antibiotic was given but was it the correct drug. Her white cells were okay, her pulse rate was normal and the echocardiogram did not show anything abnormal with her heart. So the experts were called in to consult at the final hour so to speak and no one could figure out what to do for her. So now my son and his wife have a $20k vet bill to pay and no longer have their beloved Peaches. I will be driving to Paramus to pick up Peaches and have her cremated for them and yes like most everything the fee has gone up over $100 since I last took one my own dogs there, now the cost depending on weight is about $600. Brian and Alisa got a call at 2am that she needed to be resuscitated and it worked and gave them enough time to drive down, a good hour ride. Peaches waited to die til they got there and passed at 4am. They are so devastated and heartbroken they could not bear to bring their beloved Peaches home in a cardboard box. So I will bring their poor baby home to rest…..
Update: Peaches has been at Oradell Animal Hospital since midnight Saturday/Sunday morning. As of right now the billing department gave an daily update and vet bill is $18,000 and she was never on a ventilator.  This is for all services there: oxygen, testing, meds and 24 hour care. So I had to raise the goal unfortunately after lowering it. As someone mentioned in comments on the app NextDoor if anyone wanted to donate in another way other than GoFundMe they should be able to donate directly to Oradell Animal Hospital, Paramus NJ on Peaches behalf and that would be greatly appreciated. We again thank you for your concern, compassion and generosity. Prayers for Peaches and God Bless…..

Peaches is holding her own and no more talk of a ventilator. She tested negative for heart worm and positive for Lyme disease yesterday. But why did the doctors wait four days to do any bloodwork yet suggest a ventilator almost immediately. They only did two x-rays in four days and never did an ultrasound. My son and daughter-in-law were losing faith in Oradell until today. The specialists finally consulted with each other this morning and an echocardiogram will be done today to look for possible blood clots and any other issues or problems. Peaches breathing is still fast and heavy and sounds terrible in person she was able to walk outside to go potty yesterday but fatigues easily and had no appetite. The day before she ate some hand held chicken from Alisa. That could be the effects of Lyme disease complicating everything including her appetite. So I want to thank all the people who are rallying for her recovery with understanding, caring and compassion. Friends and family are coming to aid her with caring and support. I want to especially thank everyone, all the people who have been so caring, generous, supportive, and compassionate about Peaches. I myself took on a cause 11 years ago to rescue death row dogs. To date I have adopted five pitbull mixes from NYC To Be Destroyed List and kept them from being euthanized. I lost my heart and soul Trixie this past February 13th so I understand what my son and his wife are going through. Trixie passed away in my arms after almost 4 days at Oradell…..

Update: Thankfully last night there were no phone calls that Peaches was getting worse. Better yet the vet called this morning and Peaches is showing possible signs of improvement, at least a little more energy but breathing is the same. The fact is my son and daughter-in-law never wanted to put her on a ventilator and just like humans there is no certainty it will help save a life, it is only the last resort in most cases. So Peaches Dr recommended it as they are the experts and we feared the worst. I googled bronchopneumonia and looked at causes and treatments for dogs so I would personally know what Peaches was facing. Our family lost a dear friend and god parent to my son who was put on a ventilator last year. So now I am waiting to hear from my daughter in law what the Dr has to say about Peaches. Thank God she has survived another night and is still alive and Praying she may no longer even need the suggestion of a ventilator. But the daily costs of intensive care and treatment are still adding up. The estimate from Oradell without the ventilator is still at $16,000 but could still increase so I will try to reduce the amount of the GoFundMe Goal to reflect the veterinary hospital cost currently without a ventilator for 3 days (that estimate in actuality would have been $46,000 and nothing a young family of 5 could have ever afforded to keep a family pet alive and why I started the Go Fund Me on their behalf). Thank you to those who have generously donated for Peaches. We all appreciate your care, understanding and compassion during this difficult heartfelt time for my son and his family.

Original Post : Hi , This is a Life Threatening Situation. My son and daughter-in-law’s 2 year old Border Collie Peaches became quickly stricken with Bronchopneumonia over the weekend. So they rushed her with breathing difficulties to Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus NJ not knowing why she was in distress. Critical care attempts with drugs, oxygen and nebulizer treatments have not worked well enough to make improvements in her condition so now they are being told that the only option left is to put her on a ventilator at the cost of $10,000 a day. They have already incurred costs of over $12,000 for the three days of veterinary care. They have 3 young children and Peaches is the sweetest and best pet they have ever owned. She is an irreplaceable one of kind Perfect Dog who is too young to have her life ended. Peaches needs your help to provide funding for the much needed ventilator and veterinary costs. Please Help Peaches. Tearfully I ask for funding to help my son and his wife to save their dog’s life. Maybe there is a benefactor out there who will come to their aid. Give what you can. They Need Help and Support to Save Peaches’ Life. Thank You on behalf of Brian and Alisa Scott of Vernon NJ and Children. God Bless…..
