JUSTICE FOR ROCKO

We are having a justice for rocko rally at algonac boardwalk Saturday oct 7th at noon. My name is nissa and I am Starting this fundraiser In order To get justice for rocko my friend maggie meldrums dog that was shot by A St. Clair County Deputy. Rocko and scarlet ( Maggie's other dog) Got out of his backyard for the first time ever after being sprayed by a skunk. After running for a while, he must have got lost, and he could not find his way home seeing as it was the 1st time he got loose. Rocķo was an Australian shepherd cattle dog, and scarlet is a pit bull. The officer already had it in his mind that the dogs were aggressive beCause he went around telling neighbors in his words to put their dogs away because there were two aggressive dogs running around. Rocko was in a neighbor's backyard when the Deputy said that rocko ran up to him baring his teeth and growling. The Deputy then said that he shot him twice, and rocko still got up and was still growling at him and coming at him. I can tell you that this story is Completely fabricated racco has never growled at a soul in his life.. The worst he has ever done is get excited and jump on people like any other shepherd, But it would be in a playful manner. When Maggie found out when she got home, what had happened She called the sheriff's department, and got ahold of the officer that shot her dog. When she called him he had a Smile in his voice saying yes, i'm the one who shot your dog, he Lunged at me. When Maggie said that she wanted to see body cam footage. And she didn't believe him He ended up hanging up on her. This is absolutely ridiculous, Lethal force should be an absolute last resort. The officer could have shut the Gate to the backyard and waited for animal control to come And they could have sneered rocko. The deputy could have used pepper spray or his taser. By discharging his firearm, he put the community at risk And caused wrongful death to rocko. With this fundraiser We plan to use the money to get a rally going, get legal help , Hire a private investigator so the Deputy is either fired or criminally charged,And have rocko cremated With a special memorial. We want to ensure this does not happen to anyone else. As you know your dog is a part of your family And Maggie misses her family member. Anything will help and we appreciate it. .
