Kelli's Cancer Fund

Dear friends,

We are reaching out to you to ask for your support in helping our dear friend, Kelli. She received devastating news in late December 2023 that her uncomfortable stomach problems were actually signs of cancer. She was diagnosed with Papillary Serous Ovarian Cancer which has metastasized to her liver, small bowel, bladder, and kidneys. Since that time, she has had 3 rounds of chemotherapy and is on her way to Hamilton, ON March 18, 2024 to have a full Hysterectomy as well as other potential surgical interventions. This next step will take several weeks to recover from. She will need to stay in Hamilton for several days afterwards to recover enough to then go back to Thunder Bay to heal. After she has had a chance to heal from surgery, she will have at least another 3 rounds of chemotherapy.

Kelli has a challenging and uncertain road ahead of her. She has been unable to work already for several months. She is the sole provider for herself and her fur babies: Harmony, Lily and Hank. Thankfully, she has an amazing support group in Thunder Bay, but her immediate family live in Alberta.

As most of you know, Kelli is the type of person who would drop everything to lend a helping hand. It is her kind personality and giving spirit that she consistently goes above and beyond to support her family, friends, colleagues and teammates. She has been a dedicated nurse for many years, and has been an active member of the hockey community here for several as well! She has shown incredible strength and bravery these last couple of months. We are asking for your help to support her financially through this most difficult time as she fights the fight of her life.
