UPDATE 12/4/22
Now that they are through the touch and go stage, Imy & Josh were ready to name their babies. They continued with the theme of drinks after their mum Calypso. Bundy is the colt and Cruiser is the filly. And a little Cruiser she is. Thank you to the generous support and donations from you all, we achieved the $5000 goal which went a long way to covering the vet bills. The infection spread to another bone in Cruisers leg and a different course of antibiotics targeted the infection. The vet performed a procedure under anesthetic where the joint was flushed with the hope of cleaning it out to allow the bones to fuse together. Cruisers latest checkup revealed the white cell count is now within the normal range and it is not expected that any further medical intervention is required at this point. Cruiser still guards her leg and needs to build strength up in it but on all accounts she is doing exceptionally well. She is growing well and becoming more confident. Both foals are still feeding well from their mum. Bundy is a cheeky and inquisitive boy who loves scratches and cuddles. The vet continues to say they are little miracles and is amazed that they all survived and are now thriving. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support. Imy & Josh couldn't have done it without you. Much love. Now that the goal has been reached I will be closing the go-fund me page.
UPDATE 26/1/22 - The family of horses returned to Scone Equine Hospital on 17 January. The good news is that the filly is putting on weight, growing, looking and feeding well and starting to weight bare on her leg (with a limp) and the Vet said the antibiotic she is on will give her the best chance as horses generally recover well on this course of treatment. The not so good news is that more X-rays, ultrasound and blood tests revealed that the infection has spread to another bone in her leg. They injected an antibiotic into the bone marrow and she is to continue receiving oral antibiotics every 6 hours for a month and then go back for another check up to determine her prognosis. All Vets that have treated her to date say that they are the only set of surviving twin foals they have seen in their careers. Between the Vets, Imogyn & Josh's tireless commitment to treatment & care and your financial help, she is certainly being given the best chance.
UPDATE - 9/1/22 - Both foals are putting on weight and feeding well off their mum. The filly’s favourite place is under her mums legs & being tickled by her mums tail. Her twin brother is curious and protective of his sister. They are always together and rarely a couple of feet away from their mum who always has her eyes on them both. It truly is one of nature’s miracles. See a video clip here The filly had more blood tests this week which indicate a slight improvement but there is still a way to go. The vet is giving her regular checkups and is very committed to treating her as it is the only set of live twin foals she has seen in her career. Now that the filly is over two weeks old, she is starting on a stronger antibiotic which must be administered exactly every 6 hours. On January 17, the family of horses will return to Scone Equine hospital so the filly can have more x-rays and treatment. Depending on the extent of further treatment required, we may need to revise the goal. Imy and Josh can’t thank you enough for helping them give the filly the best chance at life. They are so appreciative of your kindness and care. Please pass this on to anyone you think may be able to help out, every dollar makes a difference.

UPDATE - 3/1/22 - A massive shout out to the amazing people that are helping Imy & Josh keep their filly alive by donating toward the vet treatment she needs to treat her infection. Words alone cannot express their gratitude. The filly is continuing with pain relief and antibiotics and will undergo further blood tests this Friday then will have more x-rays next week to determine how she is responding to treatment. The vets were amazed to see how healthy both twins were when born and meeting all their health check in the first week and are committed to helping this filly have the best chance possible since developing an infection. The first 6 weeks of their lives are the most critical so your help in giving her the absolute best chance possible is appreciated beyond words. The colt is doing really well and is continuing to meet his milestones and is very attached to his twin sister. Here is a video of the family arriving at Scone Equine Hospital
UPDATE - 31/12/21 - The filly has now become sick and Imogyn and Josh are on their way to the Equine Hospital in Scone with the mare and both foals. The vet bills were estimated to be up to $10,000 which is going to be out of their reach so Imy and Josh may be left with an excruciating decision. We couldn't do anything to help them save their baby Harmony born sleeping earlier this year but if we all chip in we might be able to help them save their baby foal. UPDATE at 3.30pm - The filly had an x-ray revealing an infection in the bone of her leg. She is receiving pain relief and antibiotics to treat it and we will know more over the coming days. Keep her in your thoughts.
UPDATE - 30/12/21 - The filly has recently developed an infection and the Vet put her on antibiotics and took blood for testing. Tomorrow the Vet will confirm if she needs further treatment. This means the mare and colt will need to go with her. We are hoping people out there are able to donate to help us with vet bills to keep this miracle family together and alive.
NEWS - 22/12/21 - A Christmas miracle happened when Calypso unexpectedly gave birth to healthy twin foals, a colt and a filly. Mare and foals have been doing great and were featured on NBN news as it is rare for twin foals to be born alive and healthy.
Those that know us will know that this year has been incredibly difficult for us with unimaginable loss and health issues. Our foal babies have filled our hearts with love and hope.
Please help us keep our filly alive by contributing to funds to get the medical treatment she needs this week. We will keep you updated on the progress.
Thank you in advance for your love, care and donation.
