Twin girls, Emerie and Adley, need your help.
Donation protected
Emerie and Adley were born on Mother’s Day to their proud parents, Michael and McKenzie; and their big sister, Everleigh. The twin girls were five weeks premature. Adley was life-lined to a nearby hospital for NICU care with her dad by her side where she remained in their care for a week. Meanwhile, Emerie and McKenzie remained behind and were doing well. Everyone was reunited at home on Thursday the 12th of May. A week later, the 19th of May, Emerie started refusing feedings and became very lethargic. She was life-lined to a NICU that day, accompanied by her dad. Her oxygen would drastically reduce when laying down, her glucose levels reached 190, and she began becoming unresponsive. After many tests, they have found that she has meningitis (it has not yet been established whether it is bacterial or viral) and may have suffered a stroke. She has now been life-lined to Riley. Mom and dad are now both with her at this time and Adley and Everleigh remain behind with family. Currently, next steps are undecided as more tests are underway. A treatment plan has not been established. Michael and McKenzie went through IVF treatments in order to conceive all of their precious girls. They have been through such a long and heart wrenching journey and now they find themselves praying for a miracle. Any and all contributions will go directly to them for any expenses they deem appropriate at this time whether it be medical, travel, food, or otherwise.
Update 22May2022: I spoke with Michael on the phone briefly. The meningitis is bacterial and the root cause is currently being investigated. She has significant frontal lobe damage and they’re currently having to just wait one way or another. Continued prayers for Emerie to pull through this are needed more than ever.
