Twitch Birthday for Ricky (roaringpuppy742)

I met Ricky nearly 3 years ago when he was a freshman in high school. In my job, I work in high schools with students and JROTC programs. Ricky was one such student. If you met him in person, you would find him to be a happy, slightly goofy, very nerdy teenager.

What you would not realize is that he is struggling with medical conditions that he has been in treatment for. Ricky has had more surgeries than I can count. Most recently, he just finished his fourth round of chemotherapy to combat a condition that is rare for a 16-year-old, IgG4. It has affected him specifically causing acute problems with his liver that can only be treated currently through chemotherapy. Because of his treatment, his immune system has been severely weakend. He is no longer able to leave his home except to go for his medical treatments. He can no longer have visitors and it’s dangerous for him to even be around his own family. He can't go to school. He can't be a social 16 year old. 

Rather than be stuck at home and unable to see his friends and family, Ricky started streaming on Twitch last week to create his own new community of friends and family. RICKYS TWITCH PAGE

Because he is unable to leave his home, we are throwing a huge birthday party for Ricky live on Twitch! We are working on some HUGE surprises for him for his birthday, hence the large goal. Ricky is a special young man and his persistent optimism and infectious enthusiasm make him so deserving of this birthday! Update Oct 5, 2020 - Ricky's doctors have recommended two more chemotherapy treatments that will extend his isolation another 4-6 weeks. If these treatments are not effective, the next course of action will require a liver transplant.
