TWIXXX: Thesis film on LGBTQ & homelessness
Donation protected
TWIXXX is a drama short film about a struggling drag queen who meets a persisting houseless man while en route to her drag show. Drawing from films like Paris is Burning and The Queen, TWIXXX explores the theme of houselessness and all the misconstrued ideas that encompasses it, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. This film aims to shed light on the struggles that the drag community, specifically black drag queens, must persevere through including discrimination, harassment, and financial instability.
As an LGBTQ+ Filipino filmmaker, it’s my passion to use the power of film to give a voice to those who are socially, politically, and economically marginalized. All extra funds raised will be donated to True Colors United which assists LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness. TWIXXX will premiere at the Fox Theatre in Tucson on April 27, 2021.
