Two abandoned German shepherds

Hello! yesterday while walking my dog, I found two abandoned, malnourished German shepherds at a dog park. One seems to be the mom and the other the baby. They are underweight and the mom seems to have a swollen face and a bite on her upper neck. Both of their ears are cut up and may have been eaten up by flies.

From talking to the people around the park, they saw the two dogs by themselves in the dog park around 6 am and I arrived at 12pm. People were calling animal rescue multiple times, but no one ever showed up. I wanted to get them out of the Sacramento heat, so I took them into my house. They were extremely filthy so I bathed them, fed them, and let them relax in the A/C.

The baby seems to be attached to the mom and so I didn’t want to put them in a shelter kennel. I would eventually like to bring them to a rescue or rehome them to a good family.

They are extremely sweet but there are signs of past abuse due to them being

reactive and skittish to sounds or quick movement.

I am needing to take them to the vet to get them checked out for their malnutrition and their cuts.

I am in my 20s and live with two other people in their 20s. We previously had 3 other German shepherds in the house, so now we have 5. We have a big yard and house so we are happy to care for them until they are in a good place.

Having so much on our plate, we are asking for donations to assist with their vet bill, food, and whatever else is needed. This includes shots, vaccinations, treatments for wounds, general check up, any underlying sickness and being spayed so they can go to a rescue and not sent to a shelter. Please help us care for these precious babies!
