UPDATE:
I’ve honestly dreaded giving this update. Discussing the current situation is very painful. As most of you know, John passed away on July 7.
Out of love and respect I am going to leave the photo as is. It’s been a tremendous heartbreak for Alexis. She is still going through treatments and fighting very hard with her stage four diagnosis. The reality is that without John, she is struggling financially. We are so appreciative of everyone that has given. I am now asking for everyone to please share this page……
The names John Ferguson and Alexis Barton-Ferguson. To know these names is to know of the joy and power they bring to the world. They are the definition of “caring”. True examples of love. They love each other immensely, and were definitely brought together by God who created them to be the power couple that they are. They care for everyone no matter the circumstance. No matter the time or cost that goes into that care. No matter the background of that individual in need. No matter how busy their own lives are, they give everyone their all. Their faith is strong and they share that faith and encouragement with every person they encounter. Whatever job needs to be done; it is handled with love, compassion and never out of selfishness or self-serving intentions.
The biggest word that comes to mind in regards to John and Alexis is “fierce”. The definition of fierce is: showing a heartfelt and powerful intensity. They are fierce with friendships, fierce with love, and most certainly fierce with their faith. They are examples for many. They are a light for so many that need that sparkle. Once you meet these people, you grasp so hard to them. These are the people you want in your life!
They both are very active in the community; providing ongoing assistance to people in need. They follow their hearts and are able to find those special people needing extra love and care. As faithful members of their church, Impact, they take part in community outreach. Whether it is Alexis’s fabulous desserts (which are made by the dozens) or John’s love for helping build, create or repair anything broke; they run and help nonstop!
The UNTHINKABLE is taking place right now. This couple who have been married for over 20 years, are a team. This powerhouse full of love and support for their friends and family NEED US NOW!
There are two people and two stories, but it is a single need.
John was diagnosed with liver cancer and placed on the liver transplant list. Sadly, the cancer has spread and he was removed from this list. Although his body is strong now, the future that his medical team have written is devastating. With this, we still have faith in God.
While Alexis continued to take care of many, including John’s parents who are in their late 80’s and require full-time care, her health diminished abruptly. A simple scan for a possible minor issue, turned into a much more devastating diagnosis. After some testing, it was quickly determined that she has stage four cancer. With this, we still have faith in God.
I am here asking for help for them. There are some immediate financial needs. Please help us support them in this unbearable time. Physically and mentally, the pain is deep and unimaginable. The moment is now.
If you cannot offer monetary assistance, your prayers are greatly appreciated. We will be forever grateful for even a simple sharing of this message.
