Two ways to help -Help restaurants feed our nurses
Donation protected
Partnering with the Knights of Columbus in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, our goal is to raise money to purchase prepared food from local restaurants and then give it freely to the hero nurses and doctors who are fighting on the front line against the COVID-19 virus in our area. You may have heard that there are now over 60 cases of this virus in several local nursing homes in Greenfield, MA. We want to give back to these brave heroes who are taking care of the sick while supporting our local restaurants, who are hurting for customers and were forced to lay off much of their staff when they were ordered closed.
This campaign was started after watching a news story about the "Feed the Fight" campaign that was launched in Los Angeles. Being that we know many nurses in the area who are working 7 days a week, 12 hour days, taking care of these patients with COVID-19, the site "TwoWaysToHelp.org" was launched to give them support and to help the local restaurants. TwoWaysToHelp gives people an opportunity to help donate medical supplies if they have extra to share, and to donate a little money to help feed our brave medical workers which in turn helps our restaurants. We need to take care of our neighbors during this time of great crisis!
When this is all over do we want Main street not to have some of our favorite restaurants? Do we want to see our hard working medical staff not have the right supplies they need and not have delicious meals in their bellies while they work 12 hours a day? This GoFundMe site and our campaign gives everyone an opportunity to help during this time of great crisis. Please consider donating the amount that it would take for you to get a warm meal at a restaurant and know it will be used to feed a nurse or doctor.
Please consider donating to this campaign. It is our pledge that 100% of the money will go to buying local food from local restaurants (Think North Village Smoke House, Blue Ginger, Antonio's Pizza and other like it) and going directly to places with brave, tired workers, (Specfically Buckley, Poet's seat, Charlene Manor, Baystate Franklin, etc). And with the Knights of Columbus, you know it will be done!
Please visit our web site, https://www.twowaystohelp.org to learn how you can also donate medical supplies and where the dropoff / send points are. The medical equipment will go directly to our local nurses and doctors. We are looking for things such as N95 masks (please no handmade masks), nitrile gloves, medical gowns, goggles (the ones that cover the whole eyes), isopropyl alcohol, and other such medical devices that you may have that will help keep our nurses and doctors safe!
