I still can’t quite believe that I’m typing this… a dear friend of mine lost her battle with addiction over the holiday weekend. She was here and now she’s not. If you are familiar with the struggles of mental health and addiction, you know how devastatingly hollow this feels.
She recently celebrated three wonderful years of sobriety and during that time, she touched many lives, including my own. She helped others find their paths to recovery. She found passion in cooking and feeding people. She loved deeply. She would give the shirt off of her back and her very last dime to someone in need. She loved taking her girls camping and visiting National landmarks.
She left behind a son (who lives out of state) and two beautiful daughters (16 and 18) who are now not only having to process the loss of their mother, but also navigate cremation and memorial expenses and moving her belongings. Her kids are hard working, kind and compassionate, just like their momma, and they need our help.
Whether you are able to donate $2, $20, or $200, every little bit helps.
Anything raised above and beyond the need will be donated to charity to help others in their struggle.
