Wheelchair accessible vehicle

Hi my name is James and I was diagnosed with an extremely rare disease called Inclusion Body Myositis. It is a muscle weakening disease. Right now there is no cure and no treatment available. I was diagnosed in January of ‘21. I was able to continue to work until October of ‘21. I am now on disability and I require OT and PT each day. The time will come when I am confined to a wheelchair. When that time comes I will need a wheelchair accessible vehicle. That is what this money will go towards. - James
This is about quality of life for James. Currently he is still able to get around on his own. James gets up every day and goes to OT or PT, he volunteers at Mountain View Elementary twice a week. He so loves to see the kids, the and hustle and bustle of the school. James volunteers at the Kenai Youth Facility each week also, talking with juveniles about how to respond to their feelings!! James uses a walker most of the time to get around. We are not sure how much longer until he will need to use a wheelchair full time. When that time comes we need to be prepared both for James to independently go do the things that keeps him positive and uplifted and for him to be able to get out and about with the family. Without this van, James would end up stuck at home and that would not allow him to continue good quality of life. Thank you to anyone and everyone willing to help us out. The support we have been shown through this entire circumstance has been an amazing blessing to us both! - Merci
