Hit and Run Medical Expenses

As many of you know, Shauna lives in a quiet neighborhood in Kalispell a few blocks from a grade school. A place to walk your dogs or ride your bikes. On December 7th around 9:05 PM, Shauna was on an evening walk with her beloved pooch Katie. At an intersection, she felt it was clear to walk as there were stop signs for oncoming traffic. Then tragedy struck. As she was crossing the street, an unknown person in a newer Dark Jeep Cherokee ran the stop sign and hit her as (s)he turned the corner. While the impact was great on her, Katie was ok. Thankfully, as she had just laid her other pup to rest a few weeks prior. Shauna was literally 1 minute from walking through her front door.

She was hit so hard, she lost a shoe, hit the hood of the car then was tossed 10-15' down the road striking her head on impact. In a neighbor’s camera you can see the person stop. Wait for a brief period, then flee the scene.

Why this ask you may be wondering? Shauna doesn't have medical insurance and the person fled. She is left with these expenses as a single parent. So far, she will need the following medical care-

• Eye surgery, trauma induced cataracts, therefore she is going blind in her right eye. This will require 2 surgeries for now at a great expense.

• Broken tooth

• Fractured right elbow.

• Concussion
