As all of you know kibbitznest books, brews & blarney was opened to support the kibbitznest, Inc mission--to preserve the quality of human interaction by promoting a balance between face to face and electronic media communication. Needless to say, this pandemic has made it impossible for either organization to operate according to its mission. That being said-WE CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS TO END! The reality is, even when we are allowed to open it will be with many restrictions to ensure a safe environment. One of those restrictions will be capacity to 25-50% most likely. Luckily, most of our seating is not cramped, so spacing won't be too much of a hassle. The issue will be revenue at least for the first 6 months while everyone acclimates and the capacity restrictions are lifted. In line with our commitment to the community, we want to keep kibbitznest affordable and a comfortable home away from home.  


In keeping with our dedication to our loyal staff, they are paid much more than required by law as a bar, but they rely heavily on tips. Having to abide by a much lower capacity means there will be a lot less money coming in to maintain the staff we had before the shut-down. So that means we need help for the first 5-6 months AFTER we open.  Hopefully if the stimulus is redesigned, it may help, but more will be needed to sustain us until a vaccine is available and customers feel safe being normal again. 


It is our hope that all of you miss kibbitznest and want it back! So if you are able to help we look forward to kibbitznest being around as 'your third place' to encourage face to face communication as long as its safe!
