Claire and The Red Spatula Relief Fund
Donation protected
Hi Clients and Friends!
I hope you are all staying healthy, safe and sane during this challenging, unprecedented and heartbreaking time. We are truly living one day at a time.
As you know, my income and living are made by working directly with food and interacting with lots of people (all you folks!!) while in confined spaces. I sure can't do that now nor in the near future while sheltering in place. It will be an indefinite length of time before my business and services will be needed, wanted and safe.
Traditionally, January and February are slower months in my business. This can be worrisome as my savings are depleted. However, by March and April, things typically pick up big time and I get right back on track. Well, not this year. Overnight, my career and business have come to a complete halt. My income from The Red Spatula has been zero for several weeks and will continue to be for quite a while to come.
I am not in a position to be able to weather this crisis financially without help. I am single, live alone, have no children and very little family. My business of 16 years, is my sole support. I do not have the skills to easily transition into another job or career. However, I continue to research other ways to work and support myself. This undoubtedly will take some time. I am hopeful though, that when the time comes, we will be able to return to our new, safe normalcy and there will be a need for my services again. I hope there will all be lots of celebrating going on. Only time will tell.
Thank you for supporting me and The Red Spatula throughout the years. I have so many fond memories of events I have shared with you. I am humbly sending this request for any donation you are able to make to my “relief fund” to help me thru this crisis. Any support you have to offer will be greatly appreciated and will reduce my constant worry and burden of monthly bills and basic living expenses. In the meantime, I am also open and grateful for any other ‘safe’ income earning opportunities you may stumble upon. Thank you so much for your caring and consideration. I care about you too and trust we will all get through this together.
With gratitude and a humble yet hopeful heart,
Stay safe. Stay sane.
Love to you all,
Claire
PS: This poem, sent to me by a friend of a friend, is too good not to share. It reflects the spirit of what sustains and inspires us during these chaotic times.
“And the people stayed home.
And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still.
And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows.
And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed.
And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed. “
