Friends, Family and Community,
Ty Smith is a resident of Mesquite, NV. and a freshman majoring in Engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
A graduate of Virgin Valley High School, Ty excelled in athletics and academics during his high school years displaying strong citizenship and leadership skills.
In the sport of wrestling he won four Nevada state titles and numerous All American finishes culminating in a national title in 2017.
For those that know Ty, he shows exceptional work ethic and never backs away from a challenge. Right now, Ty is facing one of his greatest challenges in the form of ulcerative colitis.
Suffering from stomach pain and weight loss, Ty was diagnosed in January and had to do a medical withdrawal from Drexel and return home to get treatment and recover. After spending a couple weeks in a hospital in St. George, UT. where he underwent 5 blood transfusions and other treatment he is home under home health care.
He is battling this disease with vigor and there is no question that he will overcome it and make a return to college and the wrestling mat. It will take some time and he will endure great pain in this process. During this time there is a financial need for both Ty and his family. As a community, let’s help them out so Ty can get back to good.
I hope you can find it in your heart to give a little and share this with all of those who you think can help out Ty in his recovery.
