Meet Tyesha

32 years old at diagnosis… Chemo, Mastectomy, Radiation ☢️ … just like me.

Except her battle looked very different from mine.

Let me tell you why….

1 year ago I met Tyesha on Instagram. She was a year behind me in treatment and we quickly bonded over our battle and the struggles. We became each other’s support system. Checking in on one another regularly. I learned that she is a FIERCE mommy of 4, would buy the groceries of the person behind her in line, and helps anyone who asks.

It takes a village to go through cancer treatment. Spouses, parents, family, friends, children… I never understood the privilege I had until I realized some only have a small village or even none.

Hearing about her struggles of:

having to find rides to chemo,

taking her kids with her,

caring for 4 kids on her post chemo days,

not being able to work and being kicked out of her apartment,

going from job to job because of the unpredictability of doctors appointments,

being let go because of time off after surgery,

and most recent sleeping in her car to wake up to a tow truck.

And yet she asks for nothing… WELL I CANT DO NOTHING!

On August 17 Tyesha has her last reconstruction surgery. She will again be out of work for recovery with the hopes her job will be there after she is cleared to return. She is working on a place to live so she may recover and be with her children but I want to do something. I need to do something.

My goal is to raise enough to cover the cost of her being off of work. Maybe more…
