Tyler and Jonna's IVF Journey
Hello everyone! In support of my son and daughter in law, thank you for taking a moment to share in their unexpected journey to becoming parents.
Anyone who has gone through or knows someone who has dealt with infertility knows it's a hard journey...filled with the highest of highs and lowest of lows. It's draining on all levels - emotionally, physically, and financially. For Tyler and Jonna, it's been their reality for the last two years.
Without IVF, it is impossible for Tyler and Jonna to grow their family, due to a rare case of Cystic Fibrosis which prevents them from being able to conceive naturally. If you're not familiar with IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) it's the process of having sperm retrieval surgery to extract sperm, growing and then extracting eggs, and manually combining eggs and sperm in a laboratory to create embryos. The embryo(s) then get transferred to the uterus, in hopes of achieving pregnancy.
Tyler and Jonna are getting ready to begin IVF in the next few weeks and not only will this take a huge toll physically and emotionally...it is EXPENSIVE ($35k+ is being spent... Tyler and Jonna have already spent $15k on Tyler's sperm retrieval surgery alone). Unfortunately, insurance does not cover anything. How cool would it be if we came together and helped support them and ease this huge financial burden?! Prayers and encouragement are needed most, but if we could help lift some of the stress of the finances then they could focus solely on supporting each other and the physical process this has been and will continue to be.
[HOW THE MONEY WILL BE SPENT]
All generous donations will be used to fund the medical costs attributed to the IVF process, which are not covered by insurance.
- Stimulation injections
- Egg retrieval surgery and anesthesia
- Fertilization and embryo culture
- Embryo genetic testing
- Cyropreservation of embryos
- Frozen embryo transfer
For those who are unable to contribute in these hard times, we completely understand. We thank you for all your love and support and additional prayers through this journey.
